![]() 23/06/09 - NEW SONIC BOOM SIX SINGLE!Hello everyone!
Manchester’s Sonic Boom Six release their new single ‘The Concrete We’re Trapped Within (It’s Yours)’ on July 6th through Rebel Alliance Recordings label. The first single to be taken from their critically-acclaimed album City of Thieves, the track’s mix of socially-conscious lyrics, dynamic rock hooks, jungle drum loops and energetic ska-punk is the ideal introduction to the signature sound of the band that – according to Kerrang! magazine – are “rocketing out of the underground”. Already a staple of Mike Davies’s Radio 1 Punk Show, the song has attracted plays across Total Rock Radio, Kerrang! Radio and Bruce Dickinson’s BBC Radio 6 Rock Show. ![]() In addition to recording a live session for the Radio 1 Punk Show, SB6 will be playing acoustic in-store shows up and down the country around the single’s release to promote the track and sign copies of the album described by NME as “a paranoid mash-up of modern life set to a soundtrack that feels inexorably, thrillingly now” and by Rock Sound as “way beyond good and deep into the realms of something special.” With a summer that includes festival appearances at Hevy Music, Beautiful Days, Rebellion, Summer Sundae, BoomTown Fair and the Main Stage at Reading and Leeds, Music Week’s proclamation that “finally, their time has come” rings resoundingly accurate. Visit the Sonic Boom Six Myspace HERE to see the full in-store tour dates and the list of summer gigs! Available as CD and download, the formats include two previously unreleased tracks, a new remix and the video of ‘The Concrete We’re Trapped Within (It’s Yours)’. Check out the full tracklisting HERE. To sweeten the deal, we're offering those who order before the release date of July 6th postage and packing for absolutely... FREE! Pre-order your copy HERE. In other news, Random Hand kick off their July tour with The Skints on the 1st in Birmingham. Check out the dates HERE. Ahem... there are more bands joining the Rebel Alliance roster! First of all Manchester’s Sonic Boom Six return with their third album City of Thieves. Positive reviews of their magnum opus are popping up all over the place, with Punktastic.com giving the album a 5/5 rating and describing it as "the best SB6 record yet. That ‘yet’ is an important thing as well. As Sonic Boom Six evolves from its early roots it’s safe to say things are just getting better and better." Go and take a look HERE. The City of Thieves tour starts tomorrow in Brighton. Come and take a look at the tour dates and instore appearences over at the Sonic Boom Six myspace HERE. As if that weren't enough on Monday 4th May 2009, London’s Mouthwash are bringing their uniquely British take on underground guitar music into the Rebel Alliance family. True Stories was produced by the band and Peter Miles (Sonic Boom Six/The King Blues) and is the definite showcase of the group’s metamorphosis from teenage globe-conquering ska-punk oiks into an altogether unique musical proposition; an authentic, vivid snapshot of the London street. Previously available only from the band, the new release of the album includes a ten-track bonus disc of unreleased tracks, alternate versions and new takes on their old punk classics. The audio equivalent of a trip on the night bus, True Stories will be released on Monday 4th May through Rebel Alliance Recordings. Check out the tracklisting of both discs HERE. The double-disc editon is strictly limited to 500 copies so get over and get your order in as soon as you possibly can to be sure to pick it up. You can catch them and decide for yourself at Mouthwash’s tour support with The King Blues, as well as dates with Sonic Boom Six, the Voodoo Glow Skulls and a handful of headline shows.
